Develop, Create, Engage
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Riverwalk School, a vibrant special school in Bury St Edmunds.
At Riverwalk, we place our pupils at the heart of everything we do, recognising and celebrating each individual’s strengths, interests, and achievements.
Our school provides high-quality education and care for children and young people aged 4–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). We are committed to creating an environment where every learner feels safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Working closely with families, carers, and a range of professionals, our dedicated staff team ensures that every pupil’s learning journey is meaningful, personalised, and fulfilling. Through a rich and engaging curriculum, we encourage communication, independence, confidence, and a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom. Riverwalk is a community built on kindness, respect, and aspiration.
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our school, and I warmly welcome you to visit us to experience our caring and inspiring environment firsthand.
Kind Regards,
Lukasz Rumanowski
Academy Head

Our Zebras' students had an amazing time during today's swimming session! Take a look at these special moments!

Despite yesterday's stormy weather , our fantastic staff made sure learning and fun didn't stop indoors! Here's Octopus Class enjoying some brilliant messy play and board games lots of smiles, creativity, and engagement all round!

We're fivestar proud! We are delighted to share that our wonderful kitchen team Kate and Mel, have been awarded a 5Star Food Hygiene Rating following an unannounced inspection yesterday This fantastic result reflects their hard work, professionalism and commitment to providing our children with safe, highquality meals every single day. A huge well done and thank you - we couldn't be prouder!

Spring Term Survey We encourage all our parents and carers to take a few minutes to complete our Spring questionnaire. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us track parent views. Todays Sign of the Week is: Finished. This is a great one to use to show something has come to an end or something that needs to stop.

Just Keep Running. Please join us in showing your support for one of our amazing parents, Becky, who will be taking on the Manchester Marathon this April in aid of Riverwalk and The Nest. This is an incredible challenge, and Becky's determination, commitment, and generosity are truly inspiring. Let's all get behind her, cheer her on every step of the way, and show her just what a true inspiration she is. Good luck Becky, and keep running!

We are so proud of our students! They have completed their first work experience placement with Realise Futures in Ipswich. The tasks involved setting dividers for screw boxes and counting rubber lids. We are looking forward to continuing this over the next few weeks!
